My first attempt at a childhood idol -- there will be more. But I will never do a digital comic in ink wash again.

Previous Superman-related comic here.

I like the ink wash.

Every comic you put out is always your best one to date. This one is amazing! The story, the compositions, and ESPECIALLY the coloring and textures. I'm extremely offended when I hear you say that this is the last color wash you'll upload and I urge you to reconsider.

You are making amazing comics. Your art has progressed to the point were you can now safely commit to a full length story.

Well gosh, thanks for the kind words, Corey! I'll certainly continue to ink-wash my comics if that's what they end up needing, but in such cases I'll have to find different equipment to digitize them with -- there are a LOT of gradients I lost using my home-use handi-scanner.

Your confidence in me means a lot -- though I'm afraid it'll probably be fall or winter before I start any longer works. I'm kicking around some ideas for one, but first there are three or four more Superman shorts I want to draw and then collect in a minicomic. I also want to finish the novel I'm working on first if I'm going to do a graphic novel. But it'll happen.

Thanks again for the praise!

WOW i really like the color contrast (whoever says people should use grey for shading and not sepia should check this out), and i especially like the fire... it looks like angry monet!

This was a great read. I enjoyed how the comic was questioning and reflecting on itself on how to interpret color and superman. Just a very refreshing angle. The colors and lines were a welcome change from what I'm used to in comic books. Somehow your work comes off as more adult and book-like. Keep up the great work man!

What they all said!
In my honest opinion, you are one talented story-teller.

The compositions, smooth!
(if not frictionless...)

Great job Matt!
