"Caernarvon"

"On the night of 11 October while lying on a bed the king was suddenly seized... a plumber's iron, heated intensely hot, was introduced through a tube into his anus so that it burned the inner portions beyond the intestines."
--Thomas de la Moore, 1352

Oh...that's such an effective last panel choice. You make us complicit in the final horrific act, by leaving to us to imagine the horrors that lie in wait with a turn of the hypothetical page.

Glad you liked it! There was no way I could show that particular thing actually happening without pushing it over the edge into grotesque farce... I tried to come up with something that had a bite to it, but a little more restraint too.
