These humble recommendations adorned the shelves of
embattled Bay Area comics institution
Comic Relief, which acted as home, education, and employment to me for nearly half a decade. As a sixteen year old's first foray into comics criticism they're hardly auspicious, but at least I was getting a little better by the end there. From such small seeds did the still-pretty-small flower that is this website blossom...

those are great! did you cherry pick?
The trick to enjoying ASB&R is to imagine it redrawn in the style of DKSA, I think. Then it all makes much more sense. Plus it's a fun exercise.
It's funny, I've been reading this blog for a few months, and I saw in your Tom Spurgeon interview that you worked at Comic Relief, but it only just dawned on me that I sort of know you from there! There's no way you would remember me, but I bought a copy of David Boring from you three years ago. Incidentally, that place has gotten depressing.
ODE TO KIRIHITO!
Now there's a mighty brick of thrillpower - 800 pages and nary a lag, with every ten pages a new nail-biting cliffhanger. And those splashes intent upon bending the mind of the hapless reader - "whoa, comics!"
I just want to say... its cool that Richard Sala drew the art for those recommendation cards...
@Matt S, yeah I remember you dude! How often can you push David Boring on somebody in a lifetime? For me, not very. Thanks for commenting!
