Today on my Robot 6 column, I talked about the sublime design sense and pure cartooning Steve Ditko has fallen into during his under-discussed "modern period", sidelining into ideas about use of black and white space on the page, comics as a vehicle for abstract information, and the strange career of an artist who should have been a cult figure but couldn't help creating Spider-Man.
